We're a Cape Town tree-felling crew, based in Muizenberg and working right across the Cape. Peter and his team take on everything from a single overgrown palm to clearing a whole plot of alien trees, and they do the climbing themselves rather than subcontracting it out.
Tree work goes wrong when people rush it or cut corners on safety. We do the opposite. We plan every job around what's below — your roof, your walls, the neighbour's pool — and we'd rather rope-climb and lower a tree in sections than risk dropping it whole.

What we do, and what we'll tell you to phone someone else about
We fell and remove trees, prune and shape them, grind out stumps, clear overgrown plots and cut hedges. That's the whole list, and we'd rather be good at it than claim to do everything.
What we don't do matters just as much. We don't touch live municipal or Eskom power lines — if a tree is into a line, the line has to be made safe by the people who own it before we go anywhere near it. We're not landscapers, so we won't re-turf or replant for you. We're not builders, so roots already under a foundation or a boundary wall footing become a job for someone with different insurance and different equipment. And we don't take builder's rubble; green waste is our lane.
The other thing we'll do is talk you out of a job. A fair number of the trees we're called to look at don't need to come down at all — they need thinning so the wind goes through them, or the deadwood taken out. Saying so costs us the bigger invoice, but a tree takes decades to replace and we'd rather you kept it. If it genuinely has to go, we'll say that too, and explain why.
Where your tree actually ends up
A tree that took forty years to grow makes a surprising amount of material, and what happens to it is part of the job rather than an afterthought. Smaller branch wood gets chipped. Straight trunk sections can be cut to firewood lengths and stacked for you if you want them — plenty of our customers do, and it costs you nothing extra to ask. Whatever's left goes to a licensed disposal site.
There's one important exception, and it's the reason we ask what species we're dealing with before we quote. Wood from trees infested with the polyphagous shot hole borer should not be moved around the city or sold on as firewood, because that's exactly how the beetle travels between suburbs. If we find it, we'll tell you and handle the material accordingly rather than quietly loading it onto the next truck. There's more on that in our guide to the shot hole borer in Cape Town.
The same care applies to alien invasives. Port Jackson and rooikrans regrow from the seed bank whatever you do to the standing plant, so clearing them properly means planning for follow-up rather than pretending one visit fixes it. We'll be honest with you about that at the quoting stage instead of after the cheque clears.
